Gulf Shores, AL, June 30, 2017– Rabren General Contractors today celebrated the “Topping Out” of the Gulf State Park Lodge project currently under construction in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  In construction, “Topping Out” typically refers to the building structure being complete, leaving the outer skin and interior finishes to go.

“Topping Out is an important milestone in any project, and we celebrate it in our industry because we recognize all of the hard work that has gone into getting the project this far.  The workers that have gotten us here deserve this important recognition” – Stephen Green, Vice-President, Rabren General Contractors

The celebration that took place today was a catered lunch for all 90+ employees working onsite.  This celebration is particularly special for those workers who were onsite at the inception of the project; site workers, steel erectors and concrete formwork specialists, who more than likely will have moved on to another project by the time the ribbon is cut and the doors are open.

The Gulf State Park Lodge project is a 304,000-square-foot lodge and meeting facility.  The three buildings will include a 5-story 350 room hotel, restaurant facility, ballroom, lounge, conference center and meeting spaces.  The project is one of the first of its kind in The Gulf, to use SITES sustainable building practices.  It is designed by Rabun Rasche Rector Reese Architects, and Volkert, Inc. is acting as the Owner’s Representative.  Rabren is the General Contractor on the project.
