Matt Rabren serves as the President & CEO of Rabren General Contractors (RGC). Matt’s vision has grown the organization from a small general contractor to one of the largest and best companies to work for in Alabama. Matt graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Civil Engineering before beginning his career at Brasfield & Gorrie (B&G). After his time at B&G, Matt served as a Project Manager and Senior Project Manager for 9 years at RA-LIN and Associates, Inc. in Carrollton, GA before joining his brother Travis and cousin Mike to build RGC in 2003. In addition to his 30+ years of industry experience, Matt serves on the Travis L. Rabren Foundation Board of Directors, ABC Alabama Board, and Treasurer of AGC Alabama. Matt is married to Laura, with whom he has three children: Jacob, Colson and Sarah, and two grandchildren: Andi and Turner.
Drew Brown serves as Vice President of Field Operations at Rabren General Contractors (RGC). After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Building Science, Drew began his career as a Field Engineer before moving into roles such as Superintendent and Project Manager. In 2009, Drew began a new chapter at RGC, and his combination of both field and office experience have enhanced his ability to solve complex problems and inspiring those working with him to do the same. Drew Brown brings his 25+ years of industry experience to the RGC Field Operations staff to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with RGC’s Best Practices and aligns resources in accordance with safety, budget, quality and schedule obligations and objectives. Currently, Drew is working on the Reserve at Fairhope and The Crossings at North River Projects. He is married to his wife, Sarah, and, together, they have three children: Morgan, Griffin, and Alana.
Pat Donohoe serves as Vice President of Field Operations at Rabren General Contractors (RGC). Pat is responsible for the executive leadership and development of RGC’s Field Operations staff on multiple projects where he leads the teams in accordance with safety, budget, quality, and schedule. Alongside these responsibilities, Pat also leads RGC’s QA/QC program. After receiving his Building Science degree from Auburn University, Pat worked at BL Harbert International as a QC Manager and then Superintendent. Through this position, he gained invaluable experience through his work in Dubai, Liberia, Finland, and Morocco. Pat came to RGC in 2015 and quickly made waves through projects like The Lodge at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama. This project received LEED Platinum, FORTIFIED and SITES certified—the first project to achieve all three certifications in the nation. In 2021, Pat was inducted into the AGC Alabama Top 40 Under 40. Currently, he is working on the Auburn University Football Performance Center Project. He is married to his wife Tomi, and they share three children: Charlee Kate, Evie, and Barrett.
Leslie Farrington brings a diverse set of corporate and legal experiences to her Vice President – Corporate Affairs role at Rabren General Contractors. Starting at Rabren in a Special Projects role in 2017, Farrington’s responsibilities have evolved to span leadership in the areas of corporate affairs, legal affairs, risk management/insurance/bonds, technology and the intersection of these areas with operations. Prior to life in Auburn, Alabama, Leslie graduated summa cum laude from Southern Methodist University (B.B.A.) and cum laude from SMU Law School (J.D.) and served as Law Clerk to Judge Irving Goldberg on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She then worked as an Associate at K&L Gates and served as Assistant General Counsel of Fujitsu Network Communications and SVP – General Counsel of Kinko’s (now FedEx Office). Leslie loves being married to Steven, living in Auburn, and enjoying their three children, James, Dyma and Sasha.
Ray Harrelson serves as Vice President of Preconstruction at Rabren General Contractors. Within his role as VP, Ray focuses on providing leadership to his staff to align resources by preparing clear, complete, and competitive conceptual estimates, general conditions, and hard bids. Before starting at RGC in 2006, Ray Graduated from Auburn University with a Degree in Building Science and a minor in Business and Computer Science. His 30+ years of industry experience and the experiences Ray has gained in Project Management and Preconstruction have given him the tools to deliver the best pricing and Preconstruction services to our clients. Ray is married to his wife, Nancy, and they have two children: Beth and Will, and one granddaughter: Lily.
Matt Hearn serves as Vice President of Operations at Rabren
General Contractors (RGC). In this role, Matt leads several RGC project
management teams by aligning resources and projects in accordance with project
management, budget, and financial objectives. In addition, Matt works with the
leadership and project management teams on the development and implementation
of RGC’s Best Practices. Before joining RGC in 2017, Matt graduated from Auburn
University with a degree in Building Science. He then began his professional
career at M.J. Harris as a Field Engineer and worked his way up to the Project
Manager position, gaining extensive expertise on complex healthcare
construction projects. Since joining Rabren, Matt has played a large role in
the development of RGC’s Healthcare division and The Academy –
Training/Development program. Most recently, Matt and his team completed the
East Alabama Medical Center Emergency Room and Outpatient Surgical Center in
Auburn, Alabama. Currently, he is working on the Auburn University Football
Performance Center Project. Matt is married to his wife Kelsey, and together they
share three children: Everleigh, Addison, and Drake.
Jordan May serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Rabren General Contractors. In this role, Jordan is responsible for managing the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Accounting/Finance Department. He supervises all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control Best Practices. Jordan received his undergraduate degree from Troy University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Accounting and his Master of Accountancy from The University of Alabama. After graduate school, Jordan served with Deloitte & Touche LLP as an Audit Senior and then into the industry with Batson-Cook Company as a Controller. Jordan and his wife, Juliana, have two boys – Remy and Ruger and reside in Auburn, AL.
Jay Thomason serves as Vice President of Finance at Rabren
General Contractors (RGC). In his role, Jay leads the development and
implementation of Finance/Accounting Best Practices, directs the fiscal
functions of the company, and builds productive internal and external
relationships. Jay also assists with the implementation of new technologies
that are used company wide. After graduating from Auburn University with a
degree in Finance, Jay had a career in corporate banking and finance. He uses
his 30+ years of experience to lead RGC’s Finance/Accounting team with ideas
that come from a variety of industries. He brings the best lessons learned to
RGC. Jay lives in Auburn and has three children: Conner, Carol Ann, and Jay
Andrew, and one grandson: Shepard.
Jon Phelps serves as Vice President of Field Operations at Rabren General Contractors (RGC). In this role, Jon leads and is responsible for executive leadership, development, and success of multiple RGC Field Operations teams. Before joining RGC in June of 2018, Jon spent time working in the Hospitality and Tourism market segment. Jon brings his 25+ years of industry experience to the RGC team to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with RGC’s Best Practices and aligns resources in accordance with safety, budget, quality and schedule obligations and objectives. In addition to Field Operations, Jon also leads RGC’s safety department. Currently, he is working on the OPUS Savannah and the Sweetwater projects. Jon is married to his wife, Yuki, and they have three children: Alex, Ashley, and Hannah.
Jon Rabren serves as Vice President of Operations at Rabren General Contractors (RGC). He is responsible for executive leadership, the development and success of multiple RGC field operations and project management teams, the Shop and Equipment division, manpower support, and RGC’s career program. After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Building Science, Jon began his career at RGC in a variety of roles ranging from Superintendent to Project Manager. Jon uses his 20+ years of industry experience to lead RGC field operations teams on projects through implementation of RGC Best Practices and Success Factors. Currently, he is working on the OPUS Savannah and the Sweetwater projects. Jon and his wife, Torie, have three children: Tyler, Olivia, and Cade.
Mike Scarborough serves as Vice President of
Preconstruction at Rabren General Contractors (RGC). In
his role, Mike leads the negotiated preconstruction team out of the Birmingham
office to bring value to clients including budgeting at all phases of design,
value engineering, schedule development and more. Mike actively leads RGC’s
business development efforts and prepares conceptual estimates, general
conditions, and negotiated proposals. After graduating from Auburn University
with a degree in Building Science, Mike went on gain multiple professional
experiences including 10 years as the Director of Preconstruction Services
Healthcare at Hoar Construction. In addition to Mike’s 25+ years of industry
experience, he also serves on the Alabama AGC Board of Directors, is LEED AP
and ASHE certified, and has extensive ADPH, ACHA, and TDH experience. Mike is
married to his wife, Julie, with two children: Sam and Will. Together, they
live in Trussville, Alabama.
Mitchell Weyandt serves as Vice President of Business Development at Rabren General Contractors (RGC). In this role, Mitchell is responsible for executive leadership, the development and success of new business opportunities, and championing the company growth strategy. Mitchell graduated with a Business Administration and Finance degree from Auburn University before receiving his MBA from the University of North Alabama. In 2015, he spent time at Harvard University in the professional development program related to Strategic Negotiations. Mitchell began his professional career at Hoar Construction where he started as a Project Engineer and worked his way into the Senior Project Manager position 13 years later. Mitchell came to RGC in 2019 and brought his 15+ years of industry experience with him. Mitchell lives in Vestavia Hills, Alabama with his wife, Alyssa, and their two children: Mary Beth and Charlie.
